New Brunswick Canada - The Picture Province and The Gateway to the Maritimes

Travel New Brunswick Canada can be considered your "unofficial" New Brunswick Travel Guide.

This site is not part of the New Brunswick Department of Tourism.

This is my passion and these are my personal experiences and photos of this beautiful province of New Brunswick that I live in.

The purpose of this website is to provide clear and unbiased advice to someone wishing to visit New Brunswick. You know…to tell you things that some may not want you to know.

I go to great lengths to ensure that each and every page is as accurate as it can possibly be. There is however a chance that a business or attraction may close or change ownership; or fees and schedules may change. It is as up to date as it can possibly be. You get the idea…

I’m so pleased you have found me… I sincerely trust you will find the information on this site valuable and useful when planning your next New Brunswick Canada vacation.

New Brunswick Canada Attractions:

New Brunswick Canada's largest "natural" attraction is definitely the Bay of Fundy's highest tides in the world. This is where 100 billion tonnes of seawater rises and falls some 48 feet twice a day. One traveler described it as "fascinating, unique, grand, and beautiful". And absolutely amazing to see. The Bay of Fundy is the only Canadian finalist in the global New7Wonders of Nature campaign.

Although the magnificent tidal changes attract thousands of people each year. It's the the unique ecosystem created by these tides that keep people coming back.

Experiences such as Whale Watching tours off the south western part of New Brunswick and Grand Manan Island, will get you up close to the amazing and rare North Atlantic Right Whale and other species of whales and wildlife commonly found in the Bay of Fundy.

If whales are present you can be sure there is plenty of food; where there is food there are plenty of birds. Over 350 species of birds! Birding is huge here and in other areas of New Brunswick Canada!

Personally, I love nature!

Fortunately for me, nature is always in season here in New Brunswick Canada.

We are known as the “Picture Province”!!

Discover nature at it's best at the highest peak in the Maritimes, Mount Carleton, and one of the Marine Wonders of the World, the famous Bay of Fundy. Take the time to relax on one of our saltwater beaches, where you will experience some of the warmest salt water North of Virginia. Take time to explore, New Brunswick has something of interest for everyone.

New Brunswick has some unique features due to its geographical location. Here are a few New Brunswick facts that demonstrate that uniqueness:

  • New Brunswick is the only official bilingual province in Canada.
  • The Bay of Fundy is home to the Highest Tides in the World.
  • Shediac and surrounding area have the warmest salt-water beaches north of Virginia.
  • Shediac is the Lobster Capital of the World.
  • Cape Enrage has been voted the Best View in Canada according to Frommers travel guide.
  • Hartland is home to the Longest Covered Bridge in the world.
  • The Miramichi River is world famous for its salmon fishing.
  • Mactaquac Provincial Park is home to an 18-hole championship golf course.
  • Saint John has the New Brunswick Museum, our largest museum. Not only does it tell of the shipbuilding history of this province but you can see whale skeletons and full body models of prehistoric plants, animals, and mammals that inhabited this land and water many years ago.
  • Shippagan has the New Brunswick Aquarium, Atlantic Canada’s largest public aquarium and is home to the blue lobster.
  • Campobello Island is where Franklin D. Roosevelt’s summer home is located, and is also home to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the world – Head Harbor Light.
  • Minister's Island is where you can see the summer home of famous railway builder Sir William Van Horne.
...just to name a few.

There is so much to see and do, I can't possibly list them all, but here are a few more things that I can't possibly leave out:

What makes me such an expert on New Brunswick Canada?

Well, I always thought that I knew this province quite well since I have lived here all my life.

Was I ever wrong!

After working in the tourism industry for five years and exploring this province extensively with my own family, I have discovered that New Brunswick is one of the best kept secrets around! Thus the reason this website was created.

My family and I have no need or desire leave this province to have an incredible vacation. Not only is New Brunswick a great place to live, it’s an incredible place to explore. Each time we travel this province, we discover more and more wonderful people and unique places to visit.

Come to New Brunswick for your next vacation and discover for yourself the secrets of this beautiful Picture Province.

It is my sincere wish that you will enjoy New Brunswick as much as we do!! Drive Safe!
