Kick Back and Relax at the Campgrounds in New Brunswick!

If camping is your vacation style the private campgrounds in New Brunswick and the Provincial Parks offer a natural setting to relax and enjoy your vacation.

There are a total of nine Provincial Parks scattered through out this beautiful province and numerous beautiful private campgrounds. The Provincial Parks are: Sugarloaf, Mount Carleton, Parlee Beach, Murray Beach, New River Beach , Herring Cove, Anchorage, Mactaquac, and de la Republique Provincial Park.

I should tell you though; there is no law requiring campgrounds in New Brunswick to be inspected by Canada Select in order to receive an operating license. This means that some places will not have the star rating that most people are accustomed to seeing. Please be careful! Ask to see the facilities or take a drive around the campground before you confirm the transaction if possible, star rating or no star rating it is good practice!

Most New Brunswick campgrounds and Provincial Parks will reserve a campsite with a credit card… some will reserve with just your name if you plan on getting there within a certain time frame, some small operations may require cash for payment though. Provincial Parks sometimes operate on a first come-first served basis if they are filling up quickly. It is best to book ahead if possible.

The Provincial Parks in New Brunswick offer a special deal where if you stay three nights at three different Provincial Parks then your fourth night is free. Ask about this deal at any Provincial Park and they will provide you with the book listing all the parks and stamp the appropriate page. You need to have it stamped or it is not valid.

If you do not have a tent and can’t afford a travel trailer and you would still like to check out the campgrounds in New Brunswick on your vacation then I have the answer for you. Rustic shelter at New River Beach Provincial Park Most of the Provincial Parks now offer tent cabins. These are mini cabins (sometimes called rustic shelters) with a design similar to a tent except better. These bare-essential cabins will protect you from the weather but you will still need to bring your air mattress, sleeping bag, and some cooking utensils. They do not have their own washroom facilities but there is always one close by since you are in a campground.

Provincial Parks do not have three way service campsites but all have drinking water access are pet friendly and have a dumping station on site. Most Provincial Parks are wheelchair accessible and have electrical hookups to at least some of their campsites.

National Parks are also beautiful settings for a vacation with many activities for the entire family to explore. National Parks do not take same-day reservations but if you call they will give you an indication of how many sites are left. Then they operate on a first come- first served basis. Remember to book atleast 24hrs in advance to secure your campsite at one of our two National Parks.

Happy camping!
